WEST ASIA BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOUR CONCLUDES IN DOHA

Doha, Qatar, May 13, 2025 – The West Asia Beach Volleyball Tour for Men and Women, which was held here from May 7 to 10 2025, concluded at the Al Gharafa Beach Courts in Doha. Qatar’s Mahmoud Essam and Saif Al-Majid secured the second place.

The champions of the men’s category, Omanis Mazen Al-Hashemi and Hood Al-Jalboob, were crowned with the tournament trophy after defeating the Qatari duo 2-0 in the final match. Bahrain claimed the bronze medal by winning against Saudi Arabia 2-0.

In the women’s category, Mrs Amina Barakat Al-Kuwari, Chairwoman of the Women’s Sports Committee in the Qatar and West Asian Volleyball Associations, awarded the trophy to Lebanon’s Sarah Akari and Noor Hamzeh, after victory over their compatriots from Lebanon’s Mirvat Hamzeh and Lara Al-Nahi, 2-0. The Jordanian team, represented by Farah Attout and Nora Ayash, secured third place after defeating Qatar’s Haya Abu Issa and Malak Hashem, 2-0.

At the closing ceremony, Mr Ali Ghanem Al-Kuwari, President of the Qatar and West Asian Volleyball Association, praised the high technical level displayed by the participating teams in the inaugural edition of the West Asia Beach Volleyball Series.

Al-Kuwari stated: “The tournament represents a strong start for multiple beach volleyball tournaments under the West Asia Volleyball Association.” He added, “Our national team showcased exceptional performances, reaching the final match of the tournament, reflecting the remarkable progress made by the team in this sport.” He also noted that the tournament provides ranking points for both men’s and women’s teams.
