Egypt’s Al Ahly and Oman’s Seeb complete the podium

Zamalek Giza triumphed at the 43rd Arab Men’s Club Volleyball Championship in Doha after winning the all-Egyptian final against eight-time Arab champions Al Ahly Cairo. Zamalek claimed their third trophy in the history of the competition as many as 32 years after their previous victory in 1993. They also won the tournament back in 1986. Oman’s Seeb completed the 2025 podium with bronze.
In Saturday’s gold medal showdown at the Abdullah bin Suhaim Hall in the Qatari capital, Zamalek mastered a 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-20) win over Al Ahly.

Earlier in the day, Seeb produced a 3-1 (25-22, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21) victory over Qatar’s Police Doha in the bronze medal match.
In the semifinals, Zamalek swept their encounter with Police, while Al Ahly persevered through a five-set battle to overcome Seeb.
A total of 15 club teams representing nine different countries – Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Qatar and United Arab Emirates – took part in the 10-day tournament.
Zamalek’s 26-year-old Russian opposite Dmitry Yakovlev (pictured in the main photo; credits: @zamalekhalls) was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament. The Dream Team was made up of setter Mahdi Badreddin Sammoud (Police), opposite Ismail al Hedi (Seeb), outside hitters Mohamed Issa (Zamalek) and Abdelrhman Elhossiny (Al Ahly), middle blockers Mohamed Masoud (Zamalek) and Abd Elhalim (Al Ahly), and libero Mohamed Reda (Zamalek).

Qatar Volleyball Association President Ali Ghanim Al-Kuwari and Arab Volleyball Federation President Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa presented the awards during the closing ceremony.
