Pasig City, Philippines, April 24, 2025 – Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu VC and Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC booked their final four appearance in the 1st AVC Women’s Volleyball Champions League after defeating respective opponents during the quarterfinal matches on Thursday at the PhilSports Arena.
Zhetysu VC were first to confirm their semifinals slot after sweeping The Philippines’ PLDT High Speed Hitters, 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-20). Tatyana Nikitina and captain Karyna Denysova boosted the Kazakh club’s victory, scoring 19 points and 15 points respectively.
Later, Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC snagged the second semifinals slot, defeating home team Creamline Cool Smashers, 3-0 (25-15, 25-22, 25-16). Anyse Smith (13 points), Captain Onuma Sittirak (12 points) and Sasipaporn Janthawisut (12 points) helped with double-digit scores in the Thai club’s victory.
As the winners of Thursday’s matches, Zhetysu VC and Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC will face off in the semifinal showdown on Saturday at 16:00 Philippine time.
The quarterfinal phase concludes on Friday, in time for the semifinals on Saturday. By Sunday, the first-ever AVC Champions League titleholders will be crowned at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
