ZHETYSU VC, VTV BINH DIEN LONG AN TO CONTEND INAUGURAL AVC WOMEN’S CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TITLE

Pasig City, Philippines, April 26, 2025 – Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu VC and Vietnam’s VTV Binh Dien Long An booked their tickets to the title match of the 1st AVC Women’s Volleyball Champions League after defeating their respective opponents in the semifinals on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena.

Zhetysu VC were first to confirm their sweeping of Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC, 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-21) in the opening match. Captain Karyna Denysova (14 points), Yuliia Dymar (12 points), and Valeriya Yakutina (12 points) scored double-digits to help propel to team to the finale. The Kazakh club, with their tall frontline, posted a solid block formation, converting with a total of 11 blocks, but also brought in strategic service to disrupt their opponents’ rhythm. 

Vietnam’s VTV Binh Dien followed as the second team to qualify, staging a straight-sets win 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-21) against China’s BAIC Motor Volleyball Club. Captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy led all scorers in the field with 17 points, with entire Vietnam club imposing strategic service upon their opponents. 

As the two final teams to contend the first-ever AVC Champions League trophy, Zhetysu VC and VTV Binh Dien Long An have qualified directly for the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship. A hefty plum of USD 20,000 awaits the team to reach the top of Sunday’s podium.
