Bangkok, Thailand, October 30, 2022 – The 2022 Laos National Volleyball Championships (Trophy Cup) are now under way at Army Indoor Stadium (Main 5) in Vientiane, Laos with 16 teams including 10 men’s squads vying for the top honour.
The participating men’s teams had been divided into Pool A and B with five teams apiece. They comprise Grow-Up VC, University of Education, Lao Skyway, Bokeo Province and Vientiane Club in Pool A, while Pool B consists of Ministry of Defense, Vientiane Capital, Aotdy Sport, Began VC and Army Politics.
The 6 women’s teams had also been split into Pool A and Pool B, with the former featuring Vientiane Capital, Vientiane Club and Master Seven, and the latter comprising Army Politics, Diverse Girls and reigning champions Ministry of Defense.
The annual tournament kicked off on October 29 and will come to a close on November 4. However, the opening ceremony is due to be held on Monday, October 31.
The one-week tournament augurs well for Laos in their selection of their best players in preparation for the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia between May 5 and 16, 2023.
