Nanjing, China, September 23, 2024 – The Asian International Beach Volleyball Referee Candidates Course, hosted by China Volleyball Association in collaboration with the Asian Volleyball Confederation, is being held between September 23 and 29 at Xingcheng Qingju Nanjing Tangshan Hot Spring Resort in Nanjing, with 10 candidates from five countries taking part.
The one-week course, conducted theoretically and practically, is led by Course Instructor Mr Chang Chi Ming, Thomas from Hong Kong, China, former secretary of AVC Beach Volleyball Committee who has a wealth of refereeing knowledge and beach volleyball background which can help upgrade the candidates’ level and update their knowledge in refereeing field.
The candidates comprising four from China, three from Hong Kong China and one apiece from Macao China, Iran and Cambodia will have a chance to enhance their refereeing knowledge and achieve refereeing development in all ways and methods.
The opening ceremony took place on Monday, with Head of CVA Beach Volleyball Department Mr Xiang Qian presiding and delivering the welcome speech to all participants.
Earlier in May, China had hosted the Asian International Referee Candidates Course (for indoor volleyball) in Lanzhou, with 14 candidates joining the one-week course jointly instructed by Course Instructors Mr Sun Jianhui and Mr Wang Ning.
Thomas briefly explained to all candidates an overview of this course which includes theoretical and practical sessions introducing many core topics in beach volleyball, refereeing skills, physical conditioning, training theory and modern beach volleyball teaching methods, beach volleyball tactical plans and training information updates. He also wished all the best for the course participants.
