FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° has been recognised for his tireless commitment to using the power of volleyball as a force for global development, receiving the prestigious Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) Humanitarian Award for 2024.

This prestigious award was conceptualised in 2008 by visionary humanitarian Dr Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KISS and the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT). The award recognises individuals whose contributions to humanitarian causes have made a lasting impact worldwide. Previous recipients include Bill Gates (2023) and His Holiness the Dalai Lama (2017).

KISS, one of the largest humanitarian projects in the world, was founded in 1992 with the mission to provide education to marginalised tribal children in Odisha, India. Starting with just 125 students, KISS has grown to educate over 80,000 indigenous children, offering them free education at several levels. KISS has had an extraordinary role in helping to alleviate poverty and social inequality around the world.
