BAIC MOTOR VOLLEYBALL CLUB REV UP WITH REVERSE SWEEP ON VTV BINH DIEN LONG AN

Pasig City, Philippines, April 21, 2025 – China’s BAIC Motor Volleyball Club forced the decider on Vietnam’s VTV Binh Dien Long An, to win 3-2 (22-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-13, 15-10) in the 1st AVC Women’s Volleyball Champions League.

Captain Jin Ye amassed 30 points in Monday morning’s opening match at the PhilSports Arena, to bring BAIC Motor to the top of Pool C.

“We were feeling the pressure from the first two sets, and we just let go of all of that pressure. We were just thinking of our skills and giving a lot of energy,” Jin Ye said as she commented on her team’s fantastic feat.

The Vietnam side looked tight and solid in their offense, running their plays on Captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy and Vi Thi Nhu Quynh. They showed good form in counterattack as they defended and passed well.

Jin Ye and Lu Yufei posted by the flank as BAIC Motor tried to keep fight for each point. They later succumbed to errors and were unable to close out the first set to their favor

VTV Binh Dien Long An continued on with their tempo in the second set, with outside hitter Natalia Lijewska adding more statistics to the scoreboard.

By the third set, Shan Lanfeng and Tian Yue posted their contributions to help BAIC Motor back running, while they also benefitted from their opponents’ errors. They then revved their engines even more and played an error-free fourth set. They also imposed power service and scored off Jin Ye’s aces, to help force a fifth set.

By the decider, BAIC Motor never looked back. They continued to surge with the momentum of the match, connecting on attacks, and posting an impermeable stance by the net. They converted with 4 big crucial blocks which helped them capture their second victory in the competition.

VTV Binh Dien Long An will face Iran’s Saipa Tehran in Tuesday’s opening match at 10:00 Philippine time.

BAIC Motor will head to two consecutive rest days after completing their Pool C assignments, as they now await their match-up going into the quarterfinal phase.

“We’re working hard for all of that matches. We’re not taking it easy. After the rest day, we will focus on the next game,” Jin Ye said.
