Speaking from the Volleyball Festival in Lausanne, Switzerland, a 3×3 grass volleyball event, FIVB President Azevedo shared his vision:
“This festival exemplifies our vision of evolving from AVC, from FIVB to a global volleyball movement. We all share concern for the future of our sport, and our goal is ambitious: to double the number of people connected to volleyball from 800 million to 1.6 billion. Achieving this requires making our sport more accessible, understandable, and affordable.
“Kids are the future of our sport – more youth participation means more athletes and more fans. Volleyball has the power to unite people and contribute to a better world through sport. I want to thank each and every one of you for your dedication and passion. It is never taken for granted.
“I encourage all Board Members to keep athletes and fans at the center of every decision. On behalf of FIVB, know that we are here to support you – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Together, we will continue to grow volleyball across the globe. Onward and upward.”
Meanwhile, during the AVC Executive Committee Meeting on Saturday, AVC President Mr Ramon Suzara expressed his sincere appreciation to Members for their continued cooperation and commitment.
“I would like to thank the AVC Executive Committee for the collaboration and motivation I have received throughout my term,” said Mr Suzara, who also serves as PNVF President and FIVB Executive Vice President.
