BANGKOK, THAILAND — The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), in coordination with the Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA) and Volleyball World (VW), officially announces an immediate change of venue for the 2nd AVC Women’s Champions League. Originally scheduled to take place in Incheon, South Korea, this prestigious tournament will now be hosted in Bangkok, Thailand.
This decisive relocation was necessitated by the severe lack of preparation and structural failures of the Local Organizing Committee in Korea (LOC Korea), managed by H&L Partners. Following a comprehensive review, the AVC determined that H&L Partners failed to comply with critical, non-negotiable event requirements.
Key reasons for the immediate withdrawal of hosting rights from LOC Korea include: failure to secure basic infrastructure, as H&L Partners did not meet basic requirements to provide and secure accommodations, transportation, and competition venues; lack of organizational structure, with no functional LOC structure in place to execute the logistical demands of the event; and absence of national coordination, as H&L Partners failed to establish necessary coordination and communication with the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), jeopardizing the operational integrity of the tournament.
To protect the standards of the competition and ensure Asia’s elite clubs are provided the platform they deserve, the AVC has acted swiftly to relocate the event to Bangkok.
“We cannot compromise on the standards expected by our athletes, fans, and stakeholders,” said the AVC Organizing Committee. “While we are deeply disappointed by the lack of compliance from H&L Partners in Korea, we are thrilled to bring the AVC Women’s Champions League to Bangkok. Thailand’s proven track record of hosting world-class events guarantees the perfect stage for Asia’s top female athletes to compete for the ultimate club title.”
Revised match schedules, venue details, and ticketing information for the event in Bangkok will be released via official channels shortly.
