Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, July 9, 2022 – Chinese Taipei took just over an hour’s time to triumph against Uzbekistan 3-0 (25-8, 25-7, 25-14) to conclude their run in Pool B of the Preliminary Round of the 21st Asian Women’s U20 Volleyball Championship.
Opposite Hung Shih-Han delivered a massive 24 points, with 16 attacks, 6 aces and 2 blocks, in Saturday’s victory at the NU Sports Centre.
The service line proved to be the main and central game plan for Chinese Taipei, as they delivered harsh and heavy serves. They unleashed a total of 12 service winners to complete the match.
When they were not out to fulfill aces, the Chinese Taipei team continued to serve strategically in order to place their opponents in dire situations in reception and passing.
Hung Shih-Han was the default attack option, while captain Peng Yu-Rou provided commendable leadership in both attack and passing.
Setter Su Tzu-Chien managed the downsized squad well, pacing the offence reasonably yet effectively.
Uzbekistan vastly improved their play, as they latched into good rhythm by the third set. Middle Dilnoza Boymirzaeva delivered in both attack and block, which sent the entire squad in high spirits.
Chinese Taipei quickly regained their groove, partly due to their opponents’s errors, and found an unstoppable route to take their second win in the competition.
With a 2-2 card, Chinese Taipei finish the Preliminary Round at the third spot, and will proceed to compete in the 5th-8th semi-final bracket on Sunday, July 10. Uzbekistan complete their bid in the competition at 9th place.
