In-form Al Ahli Club retained their title at the Bahrain Men’s First Division Volleyball League (Isa Bin Rashid) on Thursday to stretch it to two in a row and the fifth time in the league history.
Before a large crowd of supporters and fans of both teams at Isa Bin Rashidd Volleyball Arena at Isa Sports City in Riffa, Al Ahli, known as the Eagles, defeated Al-Nasr in a hard-earned 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 25-22) in an exciting second game of the best-of-three final League match on Thursday evening, April 14, 2022. International referees were in full control of the match and any judgment decisions made by the first referee Muneer Maki Ali Juma and second referee Sayed Jaffar Hussain.
Al Ahli had earlier captured the first game in straight sets and then on Thursday closed out the title deciding matchup with a clean sweep of the finals. Al-Nasr were gunning for their 13th league title, but left the venue with their heads low in great despair to setter for silver medal.
H.H Shaikh Ali bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al khalifa, President of the Bahrain Volleyball Association, presided over the awards presentation and closing ceremony, attended by a number of BVA and club officials, at Issa Bin Rashid Hall.
Al Ahli made it to the finals after brushing off Dar Kulaib in the semifinals, while Nasser secured their finals berth following an exceptional win against Al Najma in the same stage. Dar Kulaib finished as the season’s bronze medallists after beating Al Najma in their third-place playoff clash.
