Al Shamal Sports Club reigned supreme over the 2022-23 General Junior Volleyball League after narrowly edging past defeating Qatar Club 3-2 at the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) Hall on Sunday.
Al Shamal team topped the table points with 46 by winning 16 matches to be crowned the eventual winners at the end of the league matches.
Qatar Club finished second with 39 points, with Al Rayyan Club securing 38 points to finish third.
Mr Ibrahim Mohammed Al Nama, QVA Board of Directors Member, presided over the awards presentation . He presented medals to the respective three winning teams at the end of the tournament, which saw Al Sadd Club overcome a strong challenge from Al Gharafa to put it past the determined rivals 3-2, Al Ahli pull off a dramatic 3-1 win against Al Arabi, and Al Wakra outplay Al Khor 3-1 on the final day of the tournament.
