AVC Extends Deepest Condolences on the Passing of Ms. Mariko Satomi

Dear President, esteemed colleagues at the JVA, and the family of Ms. Satomi,

It is with profound sorrow that I received the news of the passing of Ms. Mariko Satomi.

On behalf of the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), I would like to extend our deepest condolences to her bereaved family and to the Japan Volleyball Association.

Ms. Satomi was a remarkable figure in Asian Beach Volleyball and on the world stage. She was an outstanding referee and a great mentor to many young referees. For decades, she devoted herself to the development of Beach Volleyball referees throughout our region. She truly embodied the spirit of Beach Volleyball.

Beyond her professional excellence, she was also a cherished friend whose bright personality touched many people. Her passing is a great loss to the Beach Volleyball family in Asia and around the world.

Her passion, dedication, and contributions to the sport will always be remembered with the utmost respect and gratitude. We stand together with the JVA and her family during this difficult and sorrowful time. Although her passing came so suddenly, the memory of her warm smile and kind spirit will continue to inspire us all to keep working for the growth of Beach Volleyball.

May her soul rest in eternal peace.

AVC President Ramon Suzara
