Visakhapatnam, India, March 3, 2019 – The Czech Republic’s Martina Bonnerova and Martina Maixnerova concluded their FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour Vizag Open campaign with a gold medal.
The Czech pair strived to continue their own winning streak by ending their Japanese opponents Chiyo Suzuku and Yurika Sakaguchi’s undefeated run in the tournament.
They lost to their Asian counterparts in the opening set with only a two-point margin, but clawed their way back into the match to win the gold medal with a 2-1 (19-21, 21-18, 15-9) finish.
Bonnerova has won two gold medals and two silver medals, while Maixnerova earned her first ever World Tour gold at the Vizag Open.
