The Commission hosts online meeting
The FIVB Legal Commission met via videoconference on Monday, to discuss the latest FIVB legal matters and ensure that all legal affairs continue to honour the FIVB’s commitment to transparency and good governance.
The meeting began with the FIVB President, Dr Ary S Graça F° paying tribute to the previous Commission Secretary, Mr Siven Vasavan Samuel, who passed away at the end of 2020. The Commission observed a minute of silence in honour of its former Secretary, a man of professionalism and integrity, truly dedicated to the development of the legal framework in volleyball.
A number of important topics was raised during the meeting, including updates on FIVB and Volleyball World and the amendments and implementation of various FIVB Regulations. Additionally, the Commission listened to the report of the FIVB Legal and Transfers Department.
Speaking at the meeting, the FIVB President said:
“It is very important to do everything in the right way. We must follow the principles of good governance and ensure that our legal affairs are conducted in a professional and transparent manner. This is our top priority, and we count on you, the FIVB Legal Commission, to assist us in ensuring the best legal practices are implemented in our day-to-day work.”
The FIVB Commission meetings will proceed this week with the Athletes’ Commission on Wednesday 26 January, and the Rules of the Game and Refereeing Commission on Friday 28 January.
