The Commission and Council meetings concluded last week with focus on elevating the sport to even greater heights
FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° on Monday applauded the various FIVB Commissions and Volleyball Council on holding productive and fruitful meetings focused on developing volleyball and beach volleyball for the players, fans and entire global Volleyball Family.
The FIVB President attended every Commission and Council meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland and participated in discussions to ensure the FIVB’s vision to develop the sport worldwide for the benefit of the athletes, National Federations and fans continued to guide the work of the council and commissions.
The FIVB’s 12 Commissions and Councils cover all aspects of the sport, from the Athletes’ Commission and those focused on the development of the sport – the Development and Volleyball Empowerment Commissions and Volleyball Council – to sport specific commissions for beach volleyball and snow volleyball and those covering key areas, such as legal, finance, marketing and communications, rules of the game and refereeing, technical and coaching and medical.
The FIVB President said:
“It was my pleasure to attend all of the FIVB Commission and Council meetings and to participate in the passionate discussions that will help elevate our beloved sport to even greater heights. The development of our sport is the FIVB’s top priority, and it is why we are committed to reinvesting the money that comes from the sport back into the sport.
“In addition to the annual FIVB Commission and Council meetings, these bodies are working tirelessly throughout the year and meeting in working groups for the benefit of the sport. These meetings also served as an opportunity for me to personally update the dedicated members of our Commissions on the FIVB’s groundbreaking partnership with CVC Capital Partners and the subsequent launch of Volleyball World.”
