ANOC Secretary General, France’s Minister of Sports and ASICS executives among guests
FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° recently welcomed various sports leaders to the Ariake Arena and Shiokaze Park where the final stages of electrifying Tokyo 2020 volleyball and beach volleyball action were underway.
In particular, Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Secretary General and IOC Member Gunilla Lindberg attended the final of the Tokyo 2020 men’s beach volleyball competition in which Norway’s Anders Mol and Christian Sorum won gold after beating Viacheslav Krasilnikov and Oleg Stoyanovskiy from the ROC who took home silver medals.
Meanwhile, France’s Minister of Sports Roxana Maracineanu attended the Tokyo 2020 men’s volleyball final where the France national team were competing against the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) team. France prevailed after five sets of high-intensity volleyball action, taking the country’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in the sport.
Several ASICS executives, including ASICS Chairman and CEO and Chairman Motoi Oyama and Managing Executive Officer Naoki Matsushita also attended the gold medal match and met with the FIVB President. ASICS Corporation is a global designer and manufacturer of sporting goods including performance athletic footwear, apparel and accessories.
