FIVB VOLLEYBALL EMPOWERMENT COMMISSION CELEBRATES SUCCESSES OF THE PROGRAMME AROUND THE WORLD

Success stories from various countries were shared during the meeting

The FIVB Volleyball Empowerment Commission celebrated the global success of the revolutionary Volleyball Empowerment and Development programmes across the world with many success stories shared with the members during the meeting.

With the Volleyball Empowerment Commission President Vladimir Grbic and Secretary Ramon Suzara joining from the FIVB Headquarters in Lausanne, the meeting was held in a hybrid format with the members joining online from all over the world.

The meeting was also attended by Development Commission President Mushtaque Mohammed and Secretary Zdeslav Barac, with their Commission meeting successfully held the previous day.

With the FIVB continuously tracking and sharing the success stories and achievements of teams, supported by the FIVB Volleyball Empowerment, the Commission celebrated these and highlighted the investment of 24 million CHF into 846 projects from 195 National Federations across all five Continental Confederations.

The Commission also talked in detail about the FIVB Foundation, a visionary initiative that will aim to connect, serve and inspire global communities through volleyball to improve social well-being. It will do so through the global reach and power of volleyball, a socially inclusive and gender-equal team sport, to support community projects worldwide that have a positive impact.

Additionally, members also discussed the successful partnership with Special Olympics activated at several FIVB events in 2023 as well as the strong collaboration with Olympic Solidarity during the Paris 2024 Olympic cycle.

Celebrating the achievements of the Volleyball Empowerment and Development programmes during the Commission meeting, FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° said:

“We are continuously sharing the success stories of our programmes with the aim to inspire more National Federations to submit strong projects by demonstrating the benefits of the programme and sharing the achievements of others. We have almost 100 countries with great success stories, and I wanted to highlight a few examples.
