Astana, Kazakhstan, June 12, 2024 – Kazakhstan Men’s U20 volleyball team demonstrated outstanding prowess on Wednesday, securing a resounding 3-0 victory over Uzbekistan in the CAVA qualification match for the 22nd Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship.
The electrifying match, held in Astana, concluded with set scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-21 in favor of Kazakhstan.
The exceptional 25-16, 25-15, 25-21 win in the electrifying match in Astana has propelled Kazakhstan into the upcoming championship, scheduled to take place in Indonesia from July 23 to July 30, 2024. Kazakhstan are now placed in Pool D, where they will compete against formidable teams from Korea, Thailand and another qualified team from Southeast Asia.
Technical Delegate Sarah Hessaby commented on the event, saying, “The tough rivalry between the two countries added much attraction to the match. The organizers showed a high level of commitment in preparing excellent facilities for the team from Uzbekistan.
Mr Yermek Syrlybayev, Member of AVC Sports Events Council from Kazakhstan, with his vast experience, ensured flawless organization, making the visiting team feel at home.”
Kazakhstan’s head coach, Sergey Trikoz praised the team’s performance, stating, “Our players displayed remarkable skill and determination. This victory reflects their hard work and dedication. We are eager to take on the challenges lying ahead of us in Indonesia and represent Kazakhstan with the same excellence.”
The Kazakhstan Volleyball Federation expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support and encouraged continued backing as the team have been preparing for the topflight championship in Indonesia.
