Tehran, Iran, May 15, 2022 – Formidable M. Shahdab Yazd proved their superiority over Al-Rayyan to brush aside the unfancied rivals in comfortable battle 25-20, 25-17, 25-14 on the second day of their preliminary Pool B encounter in the 2022 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship at Azadi Hall on Sunday.
M. Shahdab Yazd came up in full force in their second match against Al-Rayyan. The Qataris proved no answer to the Shahdab’s splendid offensive combinations of devastating attacks by Canadian John Gordon Perrin and solid blocks from Dzavoronok Donovan. Despite facing some stiff challenge from the rivals in the opening moments, M. Shahdab Yazd comfortably clinched the first two sets 25-20, 25-17.
In the third set, the Iranians performed exceptionally well, leaving the rivals in awe with their quick attacks and superb net-play performance to capture the set 25-14 and match.
Amin Esmaeilnezhad chipped in with 13 points including 11 attacks for M. Shahdab Yazd, while Michal Finger scored the similar points on Al-Rayyan’s losing effort.
