The current SuperLega Credem Banca leaders are trying to become just the third team to successfully defend their Men’s Club World Championship title, joining fellow Italians Itas Trentino (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012) and Brazil’s Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei (2015, 2016).

In the semifinals, Perugia had another dominant performance in Bengaluru, winning their third straight match without dropping a set and topping Halkbank 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 31-29).

In the second semifinal, Minas needed five sets to secure a dramatic 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 28-30, 25-20, 17-15) win over Japan’s Suntory Sunbirds.
