Bangkok, Thailand, October 4, 2020 – Police SC won the 2019-2020 Qatar Senior Men’s Volleyball League for two times in a row and third in the club’s history after defeating Al Arabi 3-0 in the 18th round at Qatar Volleyball Association Hall, QVA said in a news release on its official website volleyball.qa on Saturday.
The competitions had been suspended in March due to the global COVID-19 pandemic.
Police SC were in great form to beat Al-Arabi, fresh from winning the 3rd Qatar Men’s Championship, 25-18, 25-20, 25-20 to raise their tally to 45 points in stay atop of the standing, while Al Arabi came in second place with 44 points. Al Rayyan finished in third place after defeating Qatar SC 3-1.
After completing all matches, QVA President Mr. Ali bin Ghanem Al Kuwari, QVA Secretary-General Youssef Ahmed Kanoo, and QVA Board of Directors Member Mohammed Salem Al Kuwari presented the awards to the top three finishers.
Eventual winners Police SC received the League Cup, gold medals, and QR250,000, while Al Arabi took home silver medals and QR175,000 and Al Rayyan claimed bronze medals and QR100,000.
After the awards presentation, the QVA President congratulated Police SC on winning the 2019-2020 Qatar Men’s Volleyball League, praising them for their outstanding performances during the whole season.
