QVA PLANS TO RESUME COMPETITIONS IN SEPTEMBER

FROM QVA, QATAR NEWS AGENCY
Bangkok, Thailand, June 23, 2020 – The Board of Directors of the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) has recently said it will determine the dates for completing the men’s league matches, the national championship, Qatar Cup, and qualifications for H.H. the Amir Cup.

QVA said in its official website “volleyballl.qa” that the clubs will be provided with the dates set to complete the league in the coming days.

QVA pointed out that the men’s league will resume in September, by holding the last and postponed round of the league competition for the 2019-2020 season after halting the league due to Covid19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, the GCC Volleyball Organizing Committee has decided to postpone the Youth Team Championship until 2022 after it was scheduled to be held at the end of July in Bahrain due to the grave (Covid-19) outbreak concerns.

This came during the meeting of the Organizing Committee No. (79), which was held via video conferencing chaired by Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Volleyball Organizing Committee, with the participation of Qatar Volleyball Association Secretary-General Yousef Ahmed Kanoo, who is also member of the Organizing Committee, and in the presence of all members from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The Organizing Committee also decided to hold the beach championship in October in Kuwait aside from cancelling the Junior Beach Championship.

The Organizing Committee also decided to postpone the Gulf Games Championship, which was scheduled for April in Kuwait, until December 2020, pending confirmation of a specified date by host country Kuwait.
