Tehran, Iran, January 24, 2021 – Determined Sirjan Foulad moved to the third place at the Iran Men’s Volleyball Super League as they produced a magnificent comeback 3-2 (19-25, 25-18, 25-21, 21-25, 15-6) win over lower-ranked Kordestan Rahyab Melal, iranvolleyball.com reported on Sunday evening.
In-form Sepahan Foulad also continued their winning streak as the pacesetters pulled out a dramatic 3-1 (26-24, 25-23, 22-25, 25-21) victory over Tehran Paykan, while Gonbad Shahrdari stole the show after relegating Amol Haraz Labaniat to the fourth place at the standings following their 3-1 (25-19, 29-27, 16-25, 25-20) win over the opponents.
A total of six matches were held in Week 24 at two halls – Volleyball Federation Hall and Volleyball House of Tehran, with Sirjan Foulad, Sepahan Foulad, Gonbad Shahrdari, Varamin Shahrdari, Ramsar Hoursan and Yazd Shahdab claiming victories. Tehran Saipa and Urmia Shahrdari rested in Week 24.
After Week 24, Sepahan Foulad remained on top of the overall standings with 18 wins against two losses, while Urmia Shahrdari and Sirjan Foulad came in second and third places respectively.
The preliminary matches in Week 25 are due to take place on Monday, February 1 at above-mentioned both halls.
