Bangkok, Thailand, December 13, 2020 – Tianjin and Jiangsu registered their opening victories as the best-of-five semifinals of the Chinese Women’s Volleyball League kicked off in Jiangmen on Saturday, xinhuanet.com reported.
Defending champions and last year’s Asian Women’s Club winners Tianjin powered past Guangdong with a blistering straight-set win 25-21, 25-18, 25-22.
Both Zhu Ting of Tianjin and Kelsey Robinson of Guangdong scored an identical game-high 21 points, while Li Yingying also provided 10 for Tianjin.
Elsewhere, Jiangsu went from one set down for their comeback 3-1 victory over Shanghai. Gong Xiangyu bagged 29 points for Jiangsu while Louisa Lippmann led Shanghai with 29.
Also on Saturday, Shandong beat Liaoning 3-0 to lead the two-leg 5th-place playoffs.
