Bangkok, Thailand, October 26, 2020 – Zhejiang beat Sichuan 3-1 to secure their semi-final berth of the Chinese Men’s Volleyball Championship in Zhengzhou, xinhuanet.com reported on Monday.
Beijing, Jiangsu and Shandong also captured their victories to win their berths to the semi-finals.
Controlling the pace from the beginning, Zhejiang took the first set 25-18. With some adjustments in rhythm, Sichuan doggedly rebounded in the second set, beating Zhejiang 25-22.
In the pivotal third set, Zhejiang edged Sichuan 26-24 so as to grasp the initiative of the game and then took the fourth set at 25-19.
In other games on Monday, Beijing eased past Guangdong 3-0, Jiangsu beat Hebei 3-1, and Shandong smashed Shanghai, the newly-crowned champion of China Volleyball League, 3-0.
The semi-finals will take place on Tuesday, with Beijing facing Jiangsu and Zhejiang playing Shandong.
