VOLLEYBALL WORLD TOPS #SPORTONSOCIAL LEAGUE TABLE 2023

Volleyball World also ranked 1st on Instagram

Volleyball World has officially topped the latest edition of Redtorch’s #SportOnSocial League Table to regain its spot as the best-performing International Federation (IF) on social media.

Now in its 7th year, the annual #SportOnSocial League Table ranks Olympic IFs based on their social media performance across a variety of metrics including total fans, absolute growth, growth rate and engagement rate, as well as total engagements, engagements per post, total views and views per video.

This year, Volleyball World’s social media strategy saw the commercial arm of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) claim 1st overall in the rankings. Volleyball World also took the top spot on Instagram, 2nd on Facebook, Twitter and TikTok, and 3rd on YouTube.

Volleyball World has now topped the #SportonSocial rankings twice in three editions since its launch in 2021 as part of a landmark partnership between the FIVB and CVC Capital Partners.

The Beach Volleyball World Championships saw a record 25 million impressions across owned social media channels

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° said:

“This fantastic result truly showcases how volleyball continues to be ahead of the curve when it comes to engaging our sport’s 800 million fans worldwide. We recognised early on the importance of embracing social media to communicate the incredible stories of our sport, reach an even wider audience and engage with fans across the globe.

“While the FIVB built the foundations of a strong social media presence, the ground-breaking launch of Volleyball World has ensured the acceleration of our efforts to bring the best of the sport to fans all year round.”

Volleyball World CEO Finn Taylor said:

“We are proud to see our efforts to bring world-class content to fans of volleyball recognised in this year’s rankings. I must tip my hat to our social and content teams for their relentless efforts and passion for creating first-rate volleyball content that fans can enjoy.

“With 2023 already in full swing, our focus is now on building our global audience and communicating all of the action from a very exciting calendar of volleyball and beach volleyball events through engaging new content across all our social platforms.”

FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship generated huge interest on social media

2022 was a busy year for the sport, with @VolleyballWorld channels bringing content from three world championships, the Volleyball Nations League and the inaugural Beach Pro Tour.

The FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship, for example, generated huge interest on social media with more than 40 million fans reached across Facebook and Instagram and over 1.5 million engagements. Meanwhile, the Beach Volleyball World Championships saw a record 25 million impressions across owned social media channels from nine million unique viewers.
