Pasig City, Philippines, April 27, 2025 – Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu VC clutched the golden trophy as winners of the 1st AVC Women’s Volleyball Champions League, after a 3-1 match (25-14, 20-25, 25-23, 25-18) against an equally tough VTV Binh Dien Long An team from Vietnam.
In the battle of team captains on Sunday evening at the Philsports Arena, Zhetysu VC’s Karyna Denysova posted 23 points and delivered when and where it mattered for the team’s cause. VTV Binh Dien Long An legendary captain Tran Thu Thanh Thuy led all scorers in the board, with 28 points in defeat.
Earlier, Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC bagged the bronze medal and third place trophy after winning 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-21, 25-19) against China’s BAIC Motor Volleyball Club. The Thai club ran a well-distributed offense, activating all attack zones in their armory. Five players posted double-digits, led by Evangelia Chantava who scored 22 points. BAIC Motor’s captain Jin Ye led all scorers on the board, charting 23 points in the defeat.
The victory ceremony which capped Sunday evening’s proceedings also honoured the competition’s best players.

Best Libero – Nguyen Khanh Dang, #12 of VTV Binh Dien Long An
Best Setter – Daria Sharhorodska, #14 of Zhetysu VC
Best Opposite – Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, #3 of VTV Binh Dien Long An
Most Valuable Player – Karyna Denysova, #5 of Zhetysu VC
As part of the rebrand of the AVC Champions League from the previous Asian Club Championships, the Final Four received their respective checks for the event’s prize money. The champions Zhetysu VC received USD 20,000 with the runners-up VTV Binh Dien Long An taking home USD 15,000. Nakhon Ratchasima won USD 10,000 as the bronze medalists, while BAIC Motor received USD 5,000.
As early as Saturday evening, Zhetysu VC and VTV Binh Dien Long An have qualified as AVC representatives for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship, with schedules and the host city to be announced at a later date.
