Tainan City, Chinese Taipei, October 30, 2019 – A total of 20 candidates participated in the 2019 Asian International Refereeing Candidate Course between October 30 and November 5, with Director of Chinese Taipei Volleyball Association Mr Chang Chin Jong and CTVBA Secretary-General Mr Cheng Sung Il jointly presiding over the opening ceremony and making welcome speeches to mark the beginning of the one-week seminar at Lixin Grand Hotel Tainan on Wednesday.
The course is highly-practical, giving all candidates the opportunity to share their points of view and experience and also theoretical, keeping all candidates updated with latest information of refereeing techniques, breakthrough technologies and all relevant matters for AVC new generation of referees.
FIVB Rules of the Game & Refereeing Commission Member and AVC Referees Committee Chairman Mr Songsak Chareonpong from Thailand has been nominated as the Course Director, with Mr Takashi Shimoyama from Japan, himself Member of the FIVB Rules of the Game & Refereeing Commission and AVC Referees Committee Secretary, instructing the course theoretically and practically.
A total of 17 men and 3 women from 12 countries consisting of American Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Hong Kong China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kuwait, Macao China, Sri Lanka, Chinese Taipei and the United Arab Emirates attended the one-week course, hoping to turn their passion into work opportunities in their future career.
