Tehran, Iran, November 6, 2019 – Two Level I coaches courses were held last October in Iranian capital Tehran, where a total of 44 women and 35 men successfully completed the courses.
FIVB Course Instructor Mr. Shihab Alriyami of Oman conducted the first five-day course for female Iranian coaches from October 11 to 16.
“The infrastructural aspect of education is the basis of advancement in any organisation,” said Iran Volleyball Federation interim president during the opening ceremony. “The national federation of Iran has long been an education-based association and among the developments made in the country is to educate the coaches and equip the staff with the necessary skills.”
Also in attendance was the vice-president of the women’s department, Ms Matin Zabardast, who welcomed the FIVB instructor as well as the participants.
“One of the most prominent tasks in the field of sports is to update the level of its staff, particularly the coaches,” Zabardast said. “I hope this course will be a step to improve the technical level of women coaches in Iran.”
The second course was held from October 20 to 24 with the 35 male participants from Iran, India, Iraq and Hong Kong, China.
“We tried to provide the best conditions to the participants to spend some valuable time in Tehran and we appreciate the time and effort of the participants in the course,” Dr. Fatahi said. “We hope you can transfer your knowledge and do your best to promote volleyball in the world.”
