Tehran, Iran, January 20, 2021 – Sepahan Foulad, Urmia Shahrdari and Amol Haraz Labaniat finished respective top three teams after Week 22 encounters in Iran Men’s Volleyball Super League as overall eight teams are now to move onto the most keenly-anticipated playoffs, iranvolleyball.com reported.
A total of six matches were held at two halls – Volleyball Federation Hall and Volleyball House of Tehran, with Sirjan Foulad, Varamin Shahrdari, Amol Haraz Labaniat, Sepahan Foulad, Urmia Shahrdari and Yazd Shahdab claiming their impressive wins.
The most breathtaking match between Amol Labaniat and Tehran Saipa saw the former perform superbly to win the hard-fought first two sets 31-29, 30-28 before the latter bounced back mightily to take the next two 25-23, 25-22 to level at 2-2. However, Amol Labaniat fared much better to win 15-10 in the thrilling tiebreaker for the eventual 3-2 victory, emerging as the only match in Week 22 which ended in closely-contested five sets.
Sepahan Foulad stayed on top of the overall standings after Week 22, while Urmia Shahrdari and Amol Haraz Labaniat came in second and third places respectively.
The preliminary matches in Week 23 are due to take place on Friday, January 22 at Volleyball Federation Hall and Volleyball House of Tehran.
