Semey, Kazakhstan, April 22, 2022 – The Abay Arena Sports Complex, which will serve as the competition site for the 2022 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship in Semey, Kazakhstan between April 24 and 30, 2022, is ready for the Asia’s top-flight women’s club championship.
A total of six teams – Thailand’s Diamond Food – Fine Chef Sport Club, Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh Pedagogical Institute, Iran’s Barij Essence, Kyrgyzstan VC from Kyrgyzstan and two teams from hosts Kazakhstan, defending champions Altay VC and Kuanysh VC, will strut their stuff in the one-week event to vie for top honour and the lone ticket up for grabs for the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship.
Upon their arrival in Semey, participating teams started training in their possible best preparation for the tournament, which will kick off its single round-robin preliminaries coming Sunday, April 24, 2022.
With seating capacity of 5,000, the three-storey Abay Arena boasts well-equipped facilities in accordance with international standards.
