Bangkok, Thailand, January 17, 2021 – Al Rayyan, fresh from stunning reigning champions Police SC in their previous match last Sunday, continued their remarkable performance at the Qatar Senior Men’s Volleyball League at QVA Hall following their fantastic comeback win over mighty Al-Arabi on Friday, volleyball.qa reported.
Al-Rayyan, which finished third place at the previous season 2019-2020, recovered from the first-set down 25-27 to beat Al-Arabi in the remaining three sets 25-18 25-21 25-23 on Friday. Al-Arabi proved to be one of the strongest teams in the League as they captured three major tournaments comprising the 2019-2020 Qatar Cup, the 2019-2020 3rd Qatar Men’s Championship and the Amir Cup last November.
Another match on Friday saw Qatar struggle to beat Al-Wakrah in hard-fought three-set thriller 25-22 26-24 25-22.
Meanwhile, defending and consecutive two-time champions Police, which suffered their first loss this season at the hands of Al-Rayyan, faced no issues on Saturday in brushing off Al-Shamal in straight sets 25-17 25-22 25-19, while Al-Khor also enjoyed the day with a scintillating 25-19 25-18 25-22 win against Al-Saad.
