Bangkok, Thailand, October 10, 2022 – The Uzbekistan Boys’ U16 Volleyball Championship has recently come to a close in Fergana, a district-level city and the capital of Fergana Region in eastern Uzbekistan, with Fergana region underlining their supremacy to be presented with souvenirs, medals and diplomas from the Ministry of Sports Development of Uzbekistan.
Also in attendance to receive souvenirs, medals and diplomas were Republic of Korakalpakistan and Navoi region, the respective second and third places in the championship held among the boys born between 2006 and 2007.
Uzbekistan Volleyball Federation Secretary General Mr Khusan Nasrullaev also turned up to present medals to the three medallists during the awards presentation.
The championship was organised in line with one of the Ministry of Sports Development of Uzbekistan’s main tasks to prepare promising athletes for successful participation in the future major competitions including the Olympic and Paralympic, Asian and Parasiatic Games, World Championships, Asian and Parasiatic Championships.
At the end of the championship, 20 talented athletes had been selected, while tasks were also assigned to trainers of the Uzbekistan national team in their preparation for the Asian Men’s U16 Volleyball Championship, which is planned to be held in Uzbekistan in August 2023.
According to the 2022 calendar plan of Uzbekistan Volleyball Federation, the Uzbekistan Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Championships had been completed, with the CAVA U16 Championship and the Uzbek Super Cup due to be held later between November 20 and 27.
