FIVB PRESIDENT PARTICIPATES IN CAVB HEADQUARTERS INAUGURATION

The new CAVB Headquarters are now officially open in Rabat, Morocco

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° recently participated in the inauguration ceremony of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Headquarters in Rabat, Morocco alongside CAVB President Bouchra Hajij and several other distinguished guests, sports leaders and media.

The FIVB President, together with Morocco’s Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, officially opened the new headquarters in a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony. Also in attendance were members of the CAVB Executive Committee and Board of Administration, Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA) 1st Vice-President Joao Da Costa Alegre, in addition to representatives of Morocco’s National Olympic Committee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diplomatic Missions.

During the ceremony, the FIVB President said:

“Today is a great day for volleyball in Africa. Today we are opening the new headquarters of the African Volleyball Confederation. Under the leadership of President Bouchra Hajij, I am sure that the future of volleyball in Africa will be bright!

“I hope that today’s inauguration of the CAVB Headquarters will be a symbol of a new chapter in the history of African volleyball. A chapter that we can write together with you. I am sure that volleyball will be a big sport here in Africa. So let’s work hard for this!”

During her welcome speech, CAVB President Bouchra Hajij said:

“This is a proud moment for us all and this day is so dear to my heart. These new headquarters will provide amazing working conditions for us, in our drive to build a more transparent, formidable and conducive environment for CAVB. We are delighted to now welcome everyone to our beautiful new headquarters. This will allow us to work even harder to develop volleyball in Africa.”

Following the ceremony, the FIVB President had an opportunity to speak to Moroccan media and share his thoughts on the development of sport in Africa and the huge potential of the continent. He outlined the opportunities of coaching and equipment support available to National Federations and expressed his full commitment to boosting volleyball and beach volleyball in Africa.
