BEIJING, ZHEJIANG CONTINUE UNBEATEN RUN AT CHINESE MEN’S VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Bangkok, Thailand, October 25, 2020 – Guangdong brushed off Hubei 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-19) in the group round-robin preliminaries of the Chinese Men’s Volleyball Championship in Zhangzhou, xinhuanet.com reported on Saturday.

Following their defeat, Hubei can now no longer progress to the tournament’s knockout stage.

Guangdong, which have nine points from three wins in Group B, will secure a last eight berth if they beat Hebei in the last round of group games on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Beijing edged Sichuan 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 27-25), while Zhejiang beat Tianjin 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-23). Both teams scored their fifth consecutive wins to top their respective groups.

Other games on Saturday saw Fujian beat Henan 3-2 (30-28, 21-25, 24-26, 25-23, 18-16), while Jiangsu defeated winless Liaoning 3-0 (25-14, 25-21, 25-21), and Shanghai eased past Hebei 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-22).
