AVC Sports Events Council Chairman Dr Eom Han-Joo, himself Technical Delegate of the Asian Games volleyball Competition and AVC Control Committee Chairman, and his team arrived in Hangzhou Asian Games volleyball venues for site inspections.
Dr Eom, accompanied by Deputy Director of volleyball competition Mr Cai Yi, himself AVC Senior Executive Vice President, and leaders of China Volleyball Association (CVA), investigated the venue construction, competition preparation, security work and the preparation of “Exciting Hangzhou” 1st Asian Women’s U16 Volleyball Championship.
There are four volleyball venues of Hangzhou Asian Games, namely Hangzhou Normal University Cangqian Gymnasium, Linping Sports Centre Gymnasium, Deqing Sports Centre Gymnasium at Huzhou and China Textile City Sports Centre Gymnasium at Shaoxing. The women’s final will be held in Hangzhou Normal University Cangqian Gymnasium, and the men’s final will be held in Linping Sports Centre Gymnasium.
The AVC delegation made a detailed inspection of the venue operation teams such as press operations, information technology, facility operation and maintenance, and doping control.
“Through this inspection, I found that the venues are new, the facilities and equipment and the fields of play are spacious and clean, and the overall conditions are satisfying, meeting all the conditions needed to host the Games. I have great confidence in the venues and the venue operation, and I believe that these venues will present perfect competitions during the Hangzhou Asian Games,” said Dr Eom.
Before the Hangzhou Asian Games, these volleyball venues will also host “Exciting Hangzhou” 1st Asian Women’s U16 Volleyball Championship, with strong teams including China, Japan, Thailand joining the fray.
Mr Cai Yi said, “This Championship is a continental event, which is undoubtedly a good opportunity of practical drill for the Asian Games. I hope that through the experience of events, the deficiencies in venue arrangement and operation could be found and shored up, so as to ensure complete success of the Asian Games.”
