Bangkok, Thailand, November 10, 2020 – Afghanistan National Volleyball Federation has recently launched event highlights of the historic Afghanistan Volleyball Premier League 2020 at Intercontinental Hotel Kabul in Kabul City.
Afghanistan National Olympic Committee President Mr Hafizullah Wali Rahimi presided over the launch event, which was broadcast live by National Sport TV, on November 4.
Also in attendance as guests of honour included Mr Ajmal Ghani, Afghan Sports Federation President and senior advisor to the president, ANVF President and Minister for Disaster Management Mr Bahauddin Jelani, NoC Secretary-General Dr Yonus Popalzay, Deputy Sport Directors Mr Hamid Kaber and Mr Qasim Hamidi.
The Afghanistan Premier League will be held between November 11 and 19, with six teams from six different zones taking part to vie for the top honour. They are Umulblad, Spenghar and Negen Hrew in Group A, while Balahisar, Bust and Nekhter are in Group B.
Participating teams will contest the group round-robin preliminaries, with only top two teams advancing to the semi-finals. All matches will be live telecast and streaming. The Volleyball Information System (VIS) will be used for the first time in Afghanistan, with experts from Iran invited to help on team statistics and performances of players.
