Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, September 28, 2021 – The joint meeting between Control Committee and organizing committee was held on Tuesday morning to check readiness ahead of the 2021 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship between October 1 and 7, 2021.

AVC Executive Director Mr Shanrit Wongprasert presided over the Joint Meeting between the Control Committee and the local organizers at the Meeting Room inside Terminal 21 Hall, which serves as the main competition venue during the topflight competition.

Control Committee President Mr Yermek Syrlybayev from Kazakhstan welcomed the CC members and stated, “I am happy for coming to Thailand and very pleased to see FIVB and AVC hold their events with the least problems by observing health protocols. Some active countries like China, Japan and Korea alike are not attending many events this year due to the COVID-19 situation. We will have seven teams in this event and in terms of organization, yesterday at the airport, it was so easy and quick and I can predict TVA is ready to aptly host the teams”.

After that, all the Control Committee members and the local organizing committee members made a venue inspection at the Terminal 21 Hall Gymnasium.

Seven teams are set to strut their stuff in the 21st Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship in Nakhon Ratchasima, vying for the lone Asian spot on offer in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship in Turkey.

After successfully hosting the inaugural Asian Women’s Club Championship in 1999, Thailand is now hosting the event for the sixth time (1999, 2002, 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2021)

The 21st edition features seven teams comprising Nakhon Ratchasima QminC VC (THA), Zhetyssu (KAZ), Choco Mucho (PHI) in Pool A and Supreme Chonburi (THA), Altay (KAZ), Rebisco Philippines (PHI), and Saipa (IRI) in Pool B.

Teams will register their delegation in the preliminary inquiry on Tuesday afternoon from 5:00pm to 9:00 pm local time on the lobby floor of Imperial Hotel, the teams’ official hotel.

The COVID-19 swab test is due to be conducted every 3 days from the arrival to closely observe the health protocols. Furthermore, on the technical side, the VNL principles are to be followed such as no court switch, no handshake, and etc.
