ONLINE MEETING HELD BETWEEN FIVB AND QVA

Bangkok, Thailand, January 28, 2021 – Mr Ali bin Ghanem Al Kuwari, President of the Qatar Volleyball Association and the Western Asia Zonal Volleyball Association, and Mr Mohammad Salem Al Kuwari, member of the QVA Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of the Beach Volleyball Committee, discussed on coordination with FIVB officials through video conferencing, volleyball.qa reported on Wednesday.

The FIVB announced that international beach championships will return again in 2021 when Doha will host a 4-Star event in Katara World Tour from March 8-12, 2021 with prizes of up to 300 thousand dollars up for grabs.

In a statement, the world’s governing body stated that there is work carried out with the Qatar Volleyball Association, stressing that the entire tournament will be held according to strict precautionary measures.

The FIVB confirmed that the Katara World Tour will be one of the qualifying rounds for the Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo, Japan later this year.

In addition, Qatar will organize a one-star international championship from February 22 to 26, 2021 at the Al-Gharafa Beach Club Stadium with the strict precautionary measures to be implemented.
