Police had obtained a wild card to contest the play-off match after their 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-23) victory over Al-Ahli. The win was a sweet revenge for the disappointing loss in the first-leg match, in which they went down to the rivals in straight sets 18-25 20-25 16-25.
