QATAR VOLLEYBALL ASSOCIATION FORMS UNPRECEDENTED WOMEN’S NATIONAL TEAM

The Qatar Volleyball Association has begun assembling the women’s team in its preparation for participating in international competitions in the year 2021/2022, as these players will be the nucleus of the first-ever Qatari women’s volleyball team that will test their mettle in the 2030 Asian Games in Doha.

The technical staff of the national team in the QVA have supervised the training of 60 players in the women’s team. These players will undergo their training stint three times a week for two hours in the QVA Hall.

The technical staff of the national team are also working to establish women’s team to keep pace with the progress and global status reached by volleyball (beach and indoor) in the State of Qatar and to encourage girls to play volleyball.

Ms Sarah Khaled Al-Misnad, QVA Member of the Board and Head of the Women’s Committee, said that the Qatar Volleyball Association, with President of the Board of Directors Mr Ali bin Ghanem Al-Kuwari at the helm, has sought ways to create a qualified generation to represent the women’s team in the best way and at the highest level aside from working on the continuous development of the base of the game and its dissemination in the State of Qatar. This is aimed at achieving the establishment of a generation of girls capable of participating, competing and representing the State of Qatar at the Arab and international levels as players, coaches or referees in the future.
