QVA CONDUCTS ORDINARY GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR 2020/2021 SEASON

Bangkok, Thailand, March 1, 2021 – The Qatar Volleyball Association held the Ordinary General Assembly at its headquarters, with all members from clubs’ representatives in attendance to discuss key points related to the future of volleyball in Qatar, volleyball.qa reported on Monday.

Apart from a number of heads from various clubs, the meeting was also attended by QVA officials, representatives of Department of Sports Affairs and a representative of the legal affairs of the Qatar Olympic Committee.

QVA President Mr Ali bin Ghanim Al-Kuwari, who chaired the meeting, welcomed all attendants and in his speech praised the technical levels of sports clubs during the current sports season apart from the supervising performance of the Qatari teams that recently participated in the Doha Beach Volleyball Cup 2021.

The tournament was a great success and praised by all participants as it took place as part of strict precautionary measures in the Beach Volleyball Complex in Al-Gharafa. More importantly, Qatar’s first team which included the superb duo of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan performed brilliantly to capture the title.

Ali bin Ghanim Al-Kuwari also praised the performance of all clubs and their commitments to the instructions in an effort of limiting the spread of COVID-19, and everyone’s keenness to follow the precautionary and preventive instructions issued by the Ministry of Public Health and the Qatar Olympic Committee in order to ensure safety of everyone.

The agenda of the General Assembly included approvals of the minutes of the previous meeting, of reports of past activities and future projects, and of the final account of the last fiscal year.

The QVA President thanked all the clubs for their good cooperation with the governing body, praising their concerted efforts in serving the game as well as the clubs’ preparations and interest in developing teams in clubs despite the current circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected the sports season for Sunni groups.
