TEAMS UNDERGO NASAL SWABS AHEAD OF AMIR CUP QUARTER-FINALS

Bangkok,Thailand, October 19, 2020 – Four participating teams, Police, Al-Khor, Al-Ahli and Qatar, underwent the COVID-19 swabs for players, technical and administrative members at the Qatar Volleyball Federation Hall in preparation for the 2019-2020 Amir Cup Quarter-finals, QVA reported in a news release on volleyball.qa on Monday.

The nasal swab test was conducted according to the precautionary measures and in cooperation with Ministry of Public Health and Aspetar Hospital as part of the necessary arrangements for the role-playing competitions among the 2019-2020 Amir Cup quarter-finalists.

The other four teams, Al-Rayyan, Al-Arabi, Al-Wakrah and Al-Gharafah, also had the nasal swabs for the similar purpose.

The quarter-finals will be held on Tuesday, October 20 with a knockout system which will see Police take on Al-Khor at 4.00pm local time and Qatar challenge Al-Ahli at 6.30pm at the QVA Hall.

Later on Wednesday, two other encounters will take place with Al-Rayyan pitting against Al-Wakrah at 4.00pm and Al-Gharafah meeting Al-Arabi at 6.30pm.

The four winning teams will next compete in the semi-finals, where the best-of-three format will be used. The top two teams in the semi-finals will then battle it out in the final showdown to determine the eventual winners and runners-up.
