Tehran, Iran, January 28, 2021 – Tehran Saipa ended the season with a bang after producing a dramatic 3-1 (25-15, 25-16, 23-25, 25-12) win against Tehran Paykan in the last week of action to officially reign supreme in the Iran Women’s Volleyball Super League, iranvolleyball.com reported.
Tehran Saipa had already captured the eventual title following their impressive victory over Qazvin Shahrdari a week earlier, making them the only invincible side this season.
Tehran Saipa were crowned the champions for the first time in history, while Esfahan Zob Ahan secured their second place. Tehran Paykan and Qazvin Shahrdari finished third and fourth places respectively.
IRIVF Vice President Dr Fariba Mohammadian presided over the awards presentation and closing ceremony, with Dr Masoumeh Ebtekar, Vice President of Iran for Women and Family Affairs, and Ms Tahereh Taherian, the First Vice President of the National Olympic Committee, also in attendance as guests of honour.
