Bangkok, Thailand, March 22, 2021 – The top eight teams of the Chinese Men’s Volleyball League was decided in Qinhuangdao on Sunday, as unbeaten Beijing and Jiangsu advanced with convincing victories, while Liaoning and Hebei were eliminated with a total loss.
Unbeaten Beijing defeated Guangdong 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-20) to pocket their sixth consecutive win this season. Beijing’s Jiang Chuan and Liu Libin scored an identical 16 points, while Zheng Guangyuan scored a game-high 18 for Guangdong.
Zhang Guanhua scored 19 points to lead Zhejiang’s 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-13) victory. Lin Haikun added 11 points in losing effort for Hubei, but his side failed to win any single set.
Gao Zhuang provided 21 points to lead Shandong to the one-sided 25-12, 25-21, 25-10 victory, while none of Fujian’s players scored double-digit points.
Also on Sunday, Shanghai beat Liaoning 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-18), Sichuan powered past Hebei 3-1 (25-21, 21-25, 25-17, 25-23), Jiangsu routed Tianjin 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-23).
After Sunday, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Shandong and Tianjin joined Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Henan to the round of the top 8 teams in the China’s top-flight professional league.
