TWO AUSTRALIAN VOLLEYBALL ACADEMY PLAYERS MAKE SENIOR DEBUT AT CONCLUDED ASIAN BV CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THAILAND

Canberra, Australia, February 17, 2020 – Australian Volleyball Academy (AVA) player and Year 12 student, Jasmine Fleming, and fellow junior, Stefanie Fejes, recently made their debut in a senior event at the last week’s 2020 Asian Senior Beach Volleyball Championships in Udon Thani, Thailand.

Under the guidance of AVA head coach, Margo Wiltens, Stefanie and Jasmine will also represent Australia at the 2020 Asian U19 Beach Volleyball Championships in Phuket, Thailand between March 12 and 15.

The AVA contains multiple programs, of which beach volleyball is the first to compete internationally.

The AVA’s National Performance Development program inducted its athletes, which included new athletes and former Centre of Excellence players, on 3 February in Canberra. Brad Tutton and Marty Collins will lead the integrated volleyball components in Canberra while Margo Wiltens will be leading the beach volleyball part of the AVA program.
