Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and current travel restrictions in place across the country, Volleyball Australia in consultation with State Associations and AVL clubs, have made the decision to not proceed with the five week home and away season.

Volleyball Australia is looking to host a new format, designed to provide all Clubs with the greatest degree of certainty in the current COVID-19 climate.

Volleyball Australia Director of Community Engagement Phil Muller said: “While we are disappointed to be making this announcement, we wanted to quickly move towards developing a solution that can provide more certainty for our Clubs and fans.

“We know the cancellation of the home games for our clubs will leave many fans disappointed, our commitment remains to delivering a revised format that can provide the same level of high quality competition we have all come to enjoy from the AVL.”

The intention is to proceed with a playing opportunity later in the year. VA will provide updates in the near future.
