VOLLEYBALL WORLD’S SOCIAL MEDIA FOOTPRINT GROWTH TOPS BCW 2022 RANKINGS

@VolleyballWorld channels saw a 35% increase in followers

Volleyball World’s social media footprint continued to grow at a tremendous rate in 2022, with the organisation topping the BCW International Sports Federations (IF) Social Media Ranking in growth across all measured social media channels and ranking third overall among Olympic IFs.

In only its second year since its launch as part of landmark partnership between the FIVB and CVC Capital Partners, Volleyball World has driven growth, innovation and investment in volleyball around the globe. Its commitment to innovative content creation is reflected in the latest BCW rankings, with the @VolleyballWorld channels recording the biggest increase in followers (35%).

In addition to being this year’s top climber, Volleyball World again ranked third overall in terms of followers among Olympic IFs with nearly 12.5 million, following only FIFA and the International Basketball Federation. In almost every metric covered – followers, growth, post frequency, engagement, and views – Volleyball World ranked in the top 10.

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° said:

“When I was elected President in 2012, I promised innovation and opportunity. Within this was the FIVB’s complete digital reinvention and modernisation of our social media presence. We have achieved some great results on this journey, and the launch of Volleyball World has only accelerated this process, bringing world-class content 365 days a year so that fans can get even closer to the action.”

Volleyball World CEO Finn Taylor said:

“We are incredibly proud of these results which reflect the hard work and dedication of the Volleyball World social media and content team, who work around the clock to bring creative and unique volleyball content to fans worldwide. We are already full steam ahead on our 2023 social media strategy, with a focus on building our global audience through new and exciting content across all social platforms.”

The BCW IF Social Media Ranking aims to capture the social media footprint of IFs across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok, and includes both Olympic and recognised non-Olympic IFs.
